Frequently asked questions

How is retention rate calculated?

It is the number of customers kept divided by the number at the start of the period, as a percentage. Keeping 920 of 1,000 is a 92% retention rate.

How does it relate to churn?

Retention and churn are mirror images: retention plus churn equals 100%. A 92% retention rate means an 8% churn rate over the same period.
