Frequently asked questions

What is the loan-to-value ratio?

LTV is the loan divided by the property's value, as a percentage. A $240,000 loan on a $300,000 home is an 80% LTV.

Why does LTV matter?

A lower LTV means more equity and less risk for the lender, which can unlock better rates and avoid mortgage insurance. High LTVs often cost more to borrow.
