Frequently asked questions

What are quick assets?

Quick assets are the most liquid: cash, marketable securities and receivables. Inventory is excluded because it can take time to convert into cash.

How does it differ from the current ratio?

The current ratio counts all current assets, including inventory. The quick ratio strips inventory out, giving a tougher test of short-term liquidity.
